Biography:
Dr Amatigue ZEGUIME holds a PharmD from the Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako, Mali (USTTB). Dr Amatigue is interested in immunology, especially the mechanisms of protection against malaria. Malaria and NTDs Research Capacity Development in West and Central Africa (MARCAD Plus) granted Dr Amatigue with a PhD Fellowship to conduct his research on the ‘Dynamics of the Humoral Immune Responses to Plasmodium falciparum Gametocyte in Mali’. The main goal of his research project is to evaluate the dynamics of the humoral immune response to P. falciparum gametocytes based on seasonality, age, and gametocyte transmission potential.
This award Dr Amatigue received will help to provide more knowledge that contributes on the tools for malaria transmission-blocking interventions. MARCAD Plus is a great opportunity for him to strengthen his research capabilities, to confirm his leadership to progress towards post-doc.
