Biography:
MASSO TAMEGHE Sylvanie is a PhD student in the department of Biochemistry at the University of Yaounde I, Cameroon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a masters degree in Molecular Biology and biotechnology from the University of Buea, Cameroon. She has been a researcher in the laboratory of Public Health Biotechnology, LAPHER, of the biotechnology center of the University of Yaounde I. She equally volunteers at the Center for Health Implementation and Translational Research, CHITRES, at the Fobang Institute for Innovations in Sciences and Technology, FINISTECH. In November 2023, she was awarded a PhD fellowship by the Malaria and NTDs Research Capacity Development in Africa (MARCAD Plus) program. Her thesis proposal is focused on: the evaluation of the human inflammatory response in malaria and schistosomiasis comorbidity. Knowledge gained from this research will contribute to develop robust integrated public health intervention strategies and treatment protocols that can effectively manage these diseases in endemic zones.
