Role in MARCAD:
CMP is the Danish partner in MARCAD and is involved in research capacity building at institutional and individual level. CMP research staff members provide supervision of PhD students and collaboration at post-doc level.
The Centre for Medical Parasitology (CMP) is a collaboration between University of Copenhagen and Rigshospitalet (State Hospital). Most CMP activities are concentrated at the University City Campus. CMP collaborates with the Copenhagen School of Global Health (CSGH).
Research at CMP
Research at CMP is concentrated on malaria, but covers a wide range of disciplines from applied field studies in Africa to basic laboratory research in Copenhagen. Major current research topics include drug resistance, parasite biology and immunology, vaccine development and interventional studies in high risk populations.
Our research is organized in teams. Scientists, technicians, and students within a team work closely together towards defined goals. In addition, teams often cooperate on an ad-hoc basis when common goals are identified.
Researchers at CMP also participate in larger collaborations with colleagues outside CMP. These can be national or international, with few or many partners.
