Biography:
Bréhima Tembely is originally from Bandiagara and lives in Mali. He studied general medicine at the University of Sciences, Technics and Technology of Bamako and defended her thesis in June 2021.
He embraced scientific research in his 4th year of medical school and took part in field research activities. Bréhima interest in scientific research was sparked by the research work carried out by the late Professor Ogobara Doumbo's team in his hometown. The team's work helped to reduce the burden of malaria in the region.
After graduating, he moved to the Malaria Research and Training Center as a clinical investigator in the Malaria and Pregnancy Unit. He mainly worked as a clinical and laboratory investigator in the field, as well as an investigator for malaria epidemiological studies.
Under the supervision of Professor Kassoum Kayentao, he took part in the following research projects: Evaluation of strategies based on intermittent preventive treatment to improve maternal and child health; Efficacy and safety of pyronaridine-artesunate (PYRAMAX) for the treatment of Plasmodium falciparum malaria in African pregnant women (PYRAREG).
For him, scientific research is of paramount importance in understanding and solving current health problems, preventing them and preparing effectively for them.
